With its mix of eclectic suburbs, old and new architecture, and the pristine blue ocean, Freo’s food scene is just as vibrant.

At Pier 21, we’re lucky enough to have some of the best restaurants in Fremantle right on our doorstep. So we asked around, and here are some of the favourite Fremantle restaurants, as voted by our team.

The Norfolk Hotel

47 South Terrace, Fremantle

You’ll find the Norfolk Hotel situated in one of our favourite old corners of Fremantle. Built in 1895, the venue is still going strong today.

With its limestone walls, extensive drinks list, and live music offerings, the Norfolk can’t be missed. It’s a relaxing, inclusive venue that offers a little bit of something for everyone.

The menu features a modern take on classic pub fare. Dive into a range of starters to share, and follow them up with gorgeous wood-fired pizzas. Choose from a classic margherita or barbecue chicken, or succulent chilli prawn.

But the venue’s real passion is slow-cooked barbeque. Heaven for carnivores, you’ll be tempted by the 12-hour slow-cooked brisket. Discover a range of smoked meats, with lamb shoulder and spare ribs, and all the sides you’d expect (plus some you won’t).

With a wide range of local and international beers on tap and a regularly rotating menu of tap takeovers, it doesn’t get better than sitting back and relaxing under the green canopy of leaves in the beer garden.

There’s a reason it’s one of the most iconic restaurants in Fremantle.

Bib & Tucker

18 Leighton Beach Boulevard, North Fremantle

Here in WA, we’re blessed with white sand beaches and sparkling blue water. And there’s no better place to soak it all in than at Bib & Tucker. Jutting out from the surrounding greenery next to Leighton Beach, an unassuming building hides one of the best restaurants in Fremantle.

The team behind Bib & Tucker is passionate about showcasing WA’s finest fresh produce. Owned by former Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan (who’s since gone on to create a food empire of his own), this is unpretentious modern Australian food.

Their breakfast is the best way to start the day. Discover favourites like buttermilk banana pancakes or something different like Exmouth prawn toast.

Lunch and dinner focus on fresh WA seafood, with seasonally driven dishes. Try sustainable meat options like exquisitely prepared kangaroo. All are paired with an extensive drinks list to suit every palate.

Tradewinds Hotel

1 Sewell Street, Fremantle

Tradewinds Hotel provides expansive river views on the Swan River’s sunny banks.

Proudly dishing up food made from locally sourced ingredients, it’s the perfect spot to relax. Order a refreshing beverage and share a plate with family and friends.

Couple their selection of delicious wines, beers, and top shelf spirits with a range of share plates like pork belly sliders and cauliflower tacos.

Or maybe your taste is more traditional surf-n-turf and a range of burgers to satisfy every diet. This is a down-to-earth Fremantle restaurant that does good, honest pub food and does it well.

Mrs Brown

241 Queen Victoria Street, North Fremantle

Mrs Brown has proudly been a favourite Fremantle restaurant since 2009. It provides a welcoming small bar option in North Fremantle that continues to surprise to this day.

Warm and intimate, it’s the perfect space for every season. Curl up by the open fire in winter, or sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy a crisp glass of wine in the summer.

While predominately a small bar, they offer a range of share plates, with cheeses and meats to graze on, made to match their drinks list. Mrs Brown also serves up hearty burgers from Flipside Burgers, located right next door.

Beautiful wine and some of Fremantle’s best burgers—what’s not to love?

The Bridge House

1 Harvest Road, North Fremantle

The Bridge House is nestled between the two iconic bridges that span North and central Fremantle, within a 100-year-old cottage steeped in history.

Its modern Australian, European-leaning menu heroes fresh, seasonal and ethically-sourced produce—blending casual comfort with sophisticated elegance. The menu also caters to a wide range of dietary requirements, and all meats and dairy products served are free range.

The restaurant is open Wednesdays to Sundays mainly for dinner sitting, with additional lunch service on Fridays and Saturdays.

Jetty Bar & Eats

126 Beach Street, Fremantle

Jetty Bar & Eats sits out over the water of the Swan River and is open from morning until late. With a coastal Mediterranean-inspired menu, you’ll find meals designed to be shared.

From smaller plates featuring exquisite salumi, Shark Bay tiger prawns, and beef carpaccio, to larger meals, like Black Angus striploin and harissa lamb shoulder.

Or choose the chef’s Feed Me special and be delighted by a range of foods that span the menu, with a few extra surprises thrown in.

Bottomless Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays ensures a selection of chef-chosen dishes designed to match the drinks menu.

Al Lupo

25 Leighton Beach Boulevard, North Fremantle

Al Lupo is your neighbourhood’s small bar by the beach. A favourite little Fremantle restaurant, you’ll come face to face with an extensive wine list made to be pored over and savoured.

Discover cheeky cocktails and local beers, and a selection of fresh food to share or keep to yourself. From scallops in chilli butter and octopus carpaccio, to salumi plates, and a selection of tinned fish, it’s an almost nostalgic dining experience.

Just what you want from a small bar with heart.
